Manufacturers of Noche Buena products are seeking up to 3 percent price increase to cover the cost of rising raw materials.
But Secretary Ramon Lopez of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said not all brands will be affected by the price adjustments, while the level of increases, if granted, may vary.
Lopez said the DTI also received requests from makers of canned sardines and canned meat for price increases.
He said these requests are being studied by the agency but he assured only those classified as basic and prime commodities will be covered by suggested retail prices.
Noche products include ham, cheese including queso de bola pastas (spaghetti and salad and elbow macaroni), spaghetti and tomato sauces and cream, fruit cocktail, sandwich spread and mayonnaise.
