The Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) has broadened its Common Legislative Agenda (CLA) for the 19th Congress by incorporating 11 additional bills, the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) said in a statement yesterday.

At its third meeting for the 19th Congress which took place on September 20, the LEDAC adopted 11 priority measures designed to aid in the realization of development targets across various sectors laid out in the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2023-2028.

“The timely passage of these priority bills will bring us closer to building a prosperous, inclusive and resilient society for Filipinos,” NEDA secretary Arsenio Balisacan said.

The list of new measures approved by the LEDAC include Amendments to Government Procurement Reform Act, Excise Tax on Single-Use Plastics, Amendments to the Cooperative Code, Amendments to the Fisheries Code, New Government Auditing Code and Value Added Tax on Digital Services.

Also included are the Rationalization of the Mining Fiscal Regime, Philippine Defense Industry Development Act, Philippine Maritime Zones Act, Open Access in Data Transmission Act and Amendments to the Right-of-Way Act.

The President of the Philippines chairs the LEDAC, while NEDA serves as its secretariat. It is a consultative and advisory body on specific programs and policies that are crucial for achieving the goals of the national economy.

It also serves as a platform to facilitate high-level policy discussions on vital issues and concerns that impact national development.
