Lalamove opens doors for dialogue with driver-partners amid plans to stage a nationwide booking strike today.

“We value the concerns of our partner drivers, and our doors are open to holding discussions with our driver community to hear their comments and feedback,” Lalamove said in a statement.

Nhon Pantoja, president of the Lalamove Drivers Association said the group will lead a nationwide booking strike to protest inaction on their pleas to regulate the fares of the platform.

Pantoja said in a television interview riders are asking to cut the share of the platform to 10 percent from 20 percent.

Pantoja said the group shoulders the discounts given to customers on Lalamove promos.

Pantoja said the group laments government’s inaction on their plea to regulate the fares and charges a year after a dialogue with the Department of Information and Communications Technology.

The group also laments the absence of insurance coverage of the drivers.

In the statement, Lalamove said it is committed to providing affordable delivery solutions to users and micro, small and medium enterprises to support their businesses’ growth and overcome challenges in the economy.

Lalamove added the company is dedicated to ensuring its partner-drivers generate more orders which they have the discretion to select based on their schedule.

Lalamove also said its priority is always to balance the needs stakeholders in providing more income-earning opportunities for its drivers on one hand and in serving its customers on the other.
