The estimated project cost of the government’s pipeline of public private partnership (PPP) projects was reduced due to the delisting of some projects.
According to documents from the PPP Center shared with reporters on December 5, there are 172 pipeline projects to P2.55 trillion as of December 4. In its October 16 report, the PPP Center said the government then lined up 173 projects valued at P3.17 trillion.
The decrease in the estimated project cost is mainly attributed to the delisting of the Joint Venture Proposal for the Laguna Lake Rehabilitation and Development Project, with estimated project cost of P763.54 billion.
Five others projects were delisted, specifically the P8.58 billion Tumauini River Multipurpose Project, P7.21 billion Combined 17 megawatt (MW) Upper Sampaloc and 8MW Lower Sampaloc Hydroelectric Power Project, P0.8 billion Comprehensive Provincial Waste Management and Carbon Capture System Utilizing Bio-Methanation No-Burn Project, P0.16 billion Food and Drug License and Clearance System and P0.02 billion Butuan City Digitalized Traffic Enforcement.
The delisting of projects were attributed to several reasons: unsolicited proposals rejected by the implementing agencies upon evaluation, projects with change in the mode of implementation or projects were delisted from the National Economic and Development Authority-Investment Coordination Committee pipeline.
Other movements in the project list include the P12.75 billion Upgrade, Expansion, Operations, and Maintenance of Laguindingan International Airport Project and the P0.36 billion Santiago City Hemodialysis Center Project, which were already awarded and are now reflected in the PPP Center database of projects under implementation.
Meanwhile, seven projects were added to the PPP pipeline.
These are the P29.39 billion 3000 Tons per Day Manila Waste-to-Energy Facility Project, P9.6 billion RENEWSTABLE Green Hydrogen Power Plant, P2.1 billion Cavite Integrated Waste Management Services and the P0.02 billion Operation & Maintenance Including Supply and Installation of Laboratory Equipment and Laboratory Information System. Other projects with costs to be determined that were added to the list include the Floating Solar Power Generation Facility at Pantabangan Reservoir, Jalaur River Multi-purpose – Phase 2 and the Integrating Renewable Energy System at Irrigation Canals.
