Employers will kick off on Wednesday their own vaccination program in support of their goal to create one million jobs by the end of the year.
The vaccination program for workers of the Employers Confederation of the Philippines under the “Reform. Rebound. Recover: 1M Jobs (1MJ) Project” will kick off in Manila.
ECOP said workers in the manufacturing and construction sectors in NCR are first in the lineup. Discussions with other industry associations are underway for the planned rollout in their respective sectors.
In June, ECOP, together with leading industry associations and government agencies, spearheaded the 1MJ Project. The project aims to create one million jobs by December 2021 as the business community continues to recover from the impact of the new coronavirus disease-2019 crisis.
In line with the project, ECOP works closely with the Department of Labor and Employment which co-chairs the National Employment Recovery Strategy Task Force ( to fast-track vaccination for workers across regions.
ECOP said the vaccination plan is an ongoing initiative open for member-companies of participating industries whose workers are in need of vaccination to increase protection against COVID-19.
Through the plan, first doses of vaccine were secured for workers in the manufacturing and construction industries in Regions 4A (CALABARZON), 3 (Central Luzon), 7 (Central Visayas), and the National Capital Region (NCR).
The 1MJ Project is a joint initiative of ECOP with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Philippine Exporters Confederation, Hotel and Restaurant Association of the Philippines, Philippine Constructors Association, Philippine Hotel Owners Association Inc. and Semiconductors and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Inc. – Irma Isip
