IMI China certified for quality management

Integrated Micro-Electronics Inc. (IMI) said its Pingshan facility, IMI Technology (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd., has been certified IATF16949 by the Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS).

IATF16949 is a technical specification aimed at the development of a quality management system that supports continual improvement, focusing on defect prevention and the reduction of variation and waste in the automotive industry supply chain. It is a standard created to harmonize different assessments and certification schemes worldwide.

“This certification expands our capacity and capability to serve the automotive segment giving us the opportunity to create more value for the automotive original parts makers or tier one suppliers,” said Gilles Bernard, IMI president.

We remain committed to upholding the stringent requirements and ensure continuous improvements of our operations and management capabilities,” said Joseph Sze, IMI Pingshan head of operations.

SGS is the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company. It is known and recognized as the global benchmark for quality and integrity.

IMI ranks 17th in the list of top 50 electronic manufacturing services (EMS) providers in the world by the Manufacturing Market Insider, based on 2018 revenues. In the automotive market, it is the 5th largest EMS provider in the world per New Venture Research.
