IATF officials at SM Aura vaccine site

In line with the SM Malls’ support for the vaccination programs of local government units, the Samsung Hall at SM Aura Premier was converted into a long term vaccination site for Taguig, and the first vaccination center in BGC. Cebu Pacific delivers more COVID-19 vaccines to Tuguegarao and Palawan

Cebu Pacific flew another batch of COVID-19 vaccines to Tuguegarao and Puerto Princesa on April 16.  This shipment of 35,080 doses is the fourth for the province of Tuguegarao, while Puerto Princesa’s shipment with 6,400 doses, is the second one flown by CEB.

“We are happy to be able to carry more of these life-saving vaccines to ensure timely distribution across the archipelago is unhampered. Trust that Cebu Pacific will continue to guarantee these are handled well so they arrive safely and in great condition,” said Alex Reyes, president and CEO of Cebgo.

Upon arrival at the CEB Cargo Warehouse in Manila on Friday, April 16, the vaccines were immediately kept in refrigerated containers to ensure they maintain their optimum conditions until arrival at their intended destinations.

The airline remains steadfast in supplementing local and national government initiatives to curb COVID-19 cases in the country. To date, Cebu Pacific has delivered approximately 264,000 doses across VisMin and some parts of Luzon. On April 14, CEB also flew 91,200 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to Tacloban, Cotabato, and Zamboanga.

Isuzu PH supports GMA Kapuso Foundation in fight vs COVID-19

Isuzu Philippines Corp. (IPC) turned over an Isuzu D-MAX LS A/T to GMA Kapuso Foundation (GMAKF) last April 16.

The donation will primarily be utilized in the foundation’s ongoing Labanan Natin ang COVID-19 nationwide campaign wherein the foundation provides personal protective equipment (PPE) to public hospital health workers and border frontliners as well as grocery packs to indigent quarantined families.

IPC first forged a partnership with GMAKF back in 2018 with the commitment of providing transportation aid to the television network’s socio civic arm’s relief and emergency operations.”

Free COVID-19 insurance for essential workers

Insular Life (InLife) is strongly driving the push to offer free COVID-19 insurance to help essential workers cope with the disease.

The free insurance cover is under a program called “Chain of Protection” (CHoP), to provide financial protection to 110,000 people who work in vital, non-medical industries.

Launched in celebration of InLife’s 110th anniversary in 2020, the offer runs until Nov. 24 this year or until the 110,000 free insurance shall have been taken, whichever comes first.

The free insurance provides coverage of P50,000 for deaths due to accidents or the COVID-19 disease. CHoP also covers an allowance of P500/day for a maximum of 10 days if the patient is admitted due to COVID-19 or if the hospitalization is due to an accident. The free life insurance and hospitalization allowance is limited to 45 days upon signing up.

Globe extends free data access

Globe Telecom is extending free data access to the Globe eLibrary and essential learning platforms of the national government until 2022. The extension will cover school year 2021-2022.

The free access was first offered by Globe to its customers last year to make it easier for everyone to learn and get resource materials from the Department of Education and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority without incurring data charges on their Globe or TM-powered smartphones.

DepEd Commons contains online review materials and Open Educational Resources (OER) authored by public school teachers who are subject matter experts.
