Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI), the Philippines’ official distributor of Hyundai passenger and commercial vehicles, is offering to the market its modern jeepney class 1 model as its contribution to the government’s effort to upgrade the country’s most popular mode of transportation.
At the two-day Roads & Traffic Expo Philippines which opened yesterday at the SMX Convention Center, HARI highlighted the people-centric, fuel efficient and innovative modern jeepney, the product of the collaboration of Hyundai Motor Co. and HARI.
The Hyundai modern jeepney class 1 can accommodate 12 passengers (plus 1 driver). It is powered by a 2.5L CRDi diesel engine, a maximum output of 130ps and torque of 26 kg-m at 1,500 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission that fits Euro 4 regulation.
The Hyundai modern jeepney class 1 can also be fitted with optional features such as a modern digital signboard, CCTV monitor, surveillance cameras and reverse cameras, optional Wifi router and two AFCS systems for fare payment and collection.
