THE Governance Commission for Government-Owned or-Controlled Corporations (GCG) has reminded officials of GOCC governing boards to submit their courtesy resignations in compliance with the earlier directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. calling for heads of agencies to do so.
In a notice posted on its website on Monday, the GCG said “all appointive directors, trustees and members of GOCC Governing Boards who have yet to submit their courtesy resignations are hereby reminded to do so not later than June 20, 2025.”
The GCG said in a previous notice that the directive for a courtesy resignation is intended to allow the president to assess the performance of key officials in all government agencies, including GOCCs, and realign government priorities in response to the evolving expectations of the Filipino people.
The GCG said non-ex-officio chairpersons and chief executive officers shall submit their courtesy resignations directly to the Office of the President, while all other appointive members of GOCC Governing Boards have to submit their courtesy resignations to the GCG.
After the deadline, the GCG said it will submit to the Office of the President a list of all incumbent appointive members of GOCC governing boards, indicating those who have submitted and have yet to submit their courtesy resignation.
“The GCG notes that the current term of office is until June 30, 2025. Thereafter, all appointees with formal appointments shall be considered in hold-over capacity,” the GCG said.
“For information, those serving in hold over or acting capacity may be replaced at any time by the President, consistent with the President’s appointing authority under the law,” it added.
In a separate document posted online, the GCG released a list of GOCCs and their respective officials that were able to comply with the directive for a courtesy resignation.
As of noon of June 5, 2025, officials from 78 GOCCs have submitted their courtesy resignations.
