Globe fires up 5G in 3 provinces

Globe Telecom Inc. is expanding its fifth-generation (5G) fixed wireless broadband service outside Metro Manila, making this commercially available to household consumers in select areas in Rizal, Cavite and Bulacan.

Households in Greenpark in Cainta, Rizal; Woodland Hills in Carmona, Cavite; and Carissa Homes 2A and 2B and Palmera Homes in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan can now apply for a Globe At Home Air Fiber 5G plan, the company said.

The rollout of the service is in line with the company’s aim to provide internet access to 2 million homes by 2020 with high-speed, reliable and secure connectivity.

Martha Sazon, Globe senior vice president and head of broadband business, said the company is starting to make the Globe At Home Air FIber 5G available in more areas to reach more homes.

“Our aim for 5G deployment is to serve more customers, especially in areas where we encounter challenges in rolling out fiber-optic cable, through providing technology that enables them for the future,” Sazon said.

Globe At Home Air Fiber 5G promises fiber-fast speeds and super-sized data allocation designed for powering intelligent devices for quality entertainment streaming, enhanced security systems and low latency gaming experience at home.

Plans currently offered are at P1,899 per month for up to 20 megabits per second (Mbps), P2,499 for up to 50 Mbps and P2,899 for up to 100 Mbps, all with data allocation of 2 terabytes.
