Globe and its partners continue to provide connectivity support to medical frontliners in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
UP-Philippine General Hospital (PGH), National Children’s Hospital (NCH), and Tondo Medical Center (TMC) received essential support packages composed of WiFi kits, entertainment sets, grocery, medical supplies, insurance vouchers, and cash support.
Each hospital received 50 Globe MyFi devices (with a free 9 GB data allocation valid for 7 days) for its medical frontliners, as well as funds raised through Globe Rewards and GCash. Likewise, smart TVs with Globe Home Prepaid WiFi (HPWs) loaded with 10 GB data valid for 7 days were installed in COVID-19, cancer wards, and other patient areas such as the Emergency Room and Out-Patient Department.
Globe Business customers have also contributed to this worthy advocacy by providing gift packs to the medical frontliners. Generika, an AC Health company and the pioneer in retail generic medicines in the Philippines, provided 500 immunity booster packages of Actimed Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Actimed Paracetamol and Actimed throat lozenges for PGH frontliners.

AREIT buildings secure Safety Seal
AREIT Inc. (AREIT) properties in Metro Manila, Ayala North Exchange, Solaris One, McKinley Exchange Corporate Center and The 30th Corporate Center secured Safety Seal Certifications from the Department of the Interior and Local Government within their respective LGUs.
The Safety Seal Certification recognizes and verifies the safety initiatives an establishment has implemented in order to safely continue with operations in lieu of the global health crisis.
AREIT’s buildings have given attention to improvements in ventilation systems to limit risk of COVID contamination and transmission through maximizing fresh air intake in its air-conditioning systems. In doing so, indoor spaces of these buildings are able to maintain adequate air exchange while still keeping cooling functionality to maintain desirable temperatures for occupants.
Other standard safety protocols done by AREIT include health declaration and thermal scanning at every entrance and exit of the establishment, use of protective equipment for building frontliners, an isolation area for COVID-suspected individuals, contact tracing, installation of guides and physical barriers in common areas to maintain social distancing, regular disinfection of high touchpoints and increased availability of sanitation devices within common areas.
D&L sends medical team
D&L Industries Inc. said it has sent a medical group to facilitate the COVID-19 vaccination initiative of Quezon City.
The medical team complements the program initiated by the Quezon City local government in partnership with Ever Gotesco which provided the vaccination venue.
D&L employees, who have been regularly reporting to work ever since the pandemic started, and considered as economic frontliners, were among those inoculated during the vaccination drive.
A limited number of economic frontliners from D&L and Ever Gotesco were accommodated during the morning sessions of the drive while the afternoon sessions were entirely devoted to priority groups from the communities in Quezon City
Archaeological project
Aboitiz Foundation Inc. has joined the National Museum of the Philippines (NMP) and the University of San Carlos (USC) in the Northern Cebu Archaeological Project.
The project is part of efforts to preserve the Cebuano heritage and aims to establish a protocol and methodology for systematic archaeological studies in Cebu.
Aboitiz Foundation granted NMP a P2-million donation in support of its archaeological heritage preservation initiatives.
Through the project, a template for continuing studies and resources to archive and preserve data of archaeological sites and landscapes will be developed. The primary objective is to develop a geospatial database to record all archaeological sites and resources in Cebu through the use of state-of-the-art archaeological methods and applications.
It aims to produce a comprehensive catalogue of archaeological findings in Cebu especially those belonging to the Metal Age. This catalogue shall be a useful reference for further studies, for the development of a comprehensive preservation program, and for crafting sustainable information dissemination program through local and international publications.

Shopee backs Makati LGU
Shopee has rolled out the Vaccination Center Support initiative starting with Makati City, and will also roll it out in other cities in Metro Manila.
This is part of Shopee’s Bayanihan program that aims to encourage Filipinos to get vaccinated and provide them with a more comfortable vaccination experience.
Shopee launched its vaccination center support initiative in Makati City last June 28 by providing Makatizens food and health kits from Shopee and its partner brands under Shopee Mall.
Shopee turned over 10 units of Symphony Air Coolers to Makati in the presence of Mayor Abigail Binay and Makati City Administrator Atty. Claro Certeza.
Colliers tapped for Basecommunity
Colliers has been tapped by the Manila city government to provide technical expertise for the latter’s urban housing initiatives.
Dubbed Basecommunity, townhouse-style units at the first project under the city’s initiative were turned over to their new residents recently. The newly built community is located in Manila’s Baseco Compound.
Colliers’ Real Estate Management Services (REMS) division will provide advisory and consultancy service on the preparation of the project’s Quality Management System, Manuals and Processes of Operation, and Preventive Maintenance of all projects of Manila Urban Settlements Office.

Maynilad vaccination drive
West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services Inc. started the rollout of its vaccination program for its employees, including their family members and household companions, with the recent activation of its vaccination site at the Maynilad Head Office in Old Balara, Quezon City.
Maynilad employees have been rendering essential services to customers non-stop since the start of the community quarantine last year, pursuing crucial field activities and facility operations while following stricter health and safety protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The vaccination site at the Maynilad Head Office is one of five established by the MVP Group Vaccine Task Force for all MVP Group employees, and is manned by personnel from the Metro Pacific Hospitals Holdings Inc.
The vaccination program for Maynilad employees is done in support of government’s efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19.
PLDT CISO wins award
PLDT Group and Smart Communications first vice president and group chief information security officer (CISO) Angel Redoble recently received the Visionary CISO Award from CISOs Connect, an exclusive professional community of trusted cyber peers and experts for cybersecurity.
During its CISOs Top 100 CISOs (C100) Recognition, the community awarded the top cybersecurity leaders across industries and institutions for their “contribution to the profession, excellence in organizational protection and nurturing the next generation of cyber professionals.”
The community’s Board of Esteemed Judges acknowledged Redoble for his “vision that goes beyond just securing his company” but also in spearheading the field of cybersecurity and the role of CISO in the Philippines.
Redoble is the chairman and founding president of the Philippine Institute of Cyber Security Professionals and a former Chairman of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group National Advisory Council.
