GERMAN medical technology and digital health innovators are actively eyeing the Philippines for strategic partnerships and business expansion, the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI) said in a statement on Tuesday.

GPCCI said it hosted the German-Philippine Conference on Medical Technology and Digital Health at Shangri-La Makati on Tuesday, where about 70 stakeholders — including industry leaders, regulatory experts, and public sector representatives — took part in high-level panel discussions, market briefings, and targeted business matchmaking sessions.

The conference was part of a week-long business mission to the Philippines on May 5 to 9, involving German small and medium enterprises in medical technology and digital health. GPCCI said the mission is a component of a broader German business initiative to foster collaboration in the fields of medical devices, diagnostics, health IT, and digital health innovation.

GPCCI said Dr. Luis Ramon Rodriguez, president of the Medical Device Association of the Philippines, presented the current landscape, emerging opportunities, and strategic pathways for the medical device industry in the country.

Rodriguez highlighted key investment prospects in digital health and AI integration, as well as opportunities in original equipment manufacturing (OEM), assembly, and local production, it added.
