Gasoline up by P1.35/liter, diesel up P0.80, kerosene up P0.70
For the second consecutive week this month, fuel retailers have increased their prices of petroleum products, with gasoline prices raised by P1.35 per liter, diesel by P0.80 and kerosene by P0.70.
An independent fuel retailer said global crude prices continued to surge due to supply fears arising from the United States’ pressures and new sanctions against Iran, an oil producer.
Seaoil and Caltex increased their per-liter prices of gasoline by P1.35, diesel by P1.30, and kerosene by P1.10.
PTT and Clean Fuel are imposing similar price adjustments for gasoline and diesel. They do not sell kerosene products.
Seaoil, Jetti, PTT set the effectivity of their new prices from 6 am today, Tuesday, and Caltex from 6:01 am, also today. Clean Fuel’s new prices are to take effect from 4:01 pm today.
Pump prices have gone up for the second consecutive week, amounting to a total per-liter increase of P2.70 for gasoline, P1.90 for diesel, and P2 for kerosene.
The latest data from the Department of Energy (DOE) showed that as of April 22, the agency recorded a total net increase of P2.30 per liter for gasoline, P2.85 per liter for diesel, and a net decrease of P1.80 per liter for kerosene since January 2025.
Leo Bellas, president of Jetti Petroleum Inc., told reporters that the US’ softening stand on China import tariffs and “a drop in US fuel stockpiles” have also helped push prices up.
Rodela Romero, DOE’s Oil Industry Management Bureau director, agreed with the Jetti executive, saying the decline in US crude inventories has been “sharper than expected.”
