First Gen Corp. said its subsidiary, FGEN LNG Corp. has selected three preferred companies to participate in a competitive selection process in the chartering of a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU).
The company identified these as BW Gas Limited, GasLog LNG Services Ltd. and Hoegh LNG Asia Pte Ltd.
The FSRU that FGEN LNG is seeking to charter will provide storage and regasification services for its planned interim offshore liquefied natural gas terminal that is being developed in Batangas City.
The project will also involve the modification of existing liquid fuel jetty that will enable it to become multiple-use and the building of an adjunct onshore gas receiving facility to receive and deliver gas to end-users.
FGEN LNG is keen on developing the project to bring in LNG to the Philippines as early as the third quarter of 2022.
