Fernando Zobel de Ayala has resigned from his position in the board of directors of the various listed Ayala companies.
The companies — Globe Telecom Inc., Integrated Micro-Electronics Inc. (IMI), Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) and Ayala Corp. — said his resignation is to allow him to focus more on his recovery and health.
In August, Zobel took a leave of absence from his role in Ayala where he was vice chairman and president, citing health reasons.
Ayala, in a statement posted on its social media account then, said it supports Zobel’s decision “to focus on improving his health and achieving complete recovery.”
Globe, IMI and BPI said they are set to select Zobel’s replacement .
