GLOBE Telecom Inc. payment platform Electronic Commerce Payments Inc. (ECPay) has posted a significant increase in digital merchant partners as more Filipinos transitioned to digital channels.
Currently, ECPay has 450,590 digital merchants partners, surpassing its target of 449,000 merchants.
This milestone signifies an expanded reach to a larger customer base through mobile apps catering to eMoney, banking, lending, payment vending machines, and sari-sari stores.
Ernest Cu, Globe Group president and chief executive officer, said this achievement underlines the increasing trend of Filipinos embracing digitalization.
“ This shows ECPay’s dedication to optimizing the convenience and accessibility of digital payments. The remarkable expansion of its digital merchant partnerships also unequivocally demonstrates how Filipinos embrace digital financial transactions,” said Cu.
With its ongoing expansion, ECPay is on track to establish itself as a prominent force in the realm of financial technology in the Philippines.

ECPay’s outstanding performance has positioned it as the primary contributor to Globe’s first-quarter top line, accounting for 1.5 percent of gross service revenues. The platform’s open nature, primarily dedicated to bill payments and prepaid load distribution for all three mobile operators in the country, has been instrumental in this achievement.
