The Anti-red Tape Authority (ARTA) is set to roll out before the end of the month the electronic Business One-Stop Shop (eBOSS) to help agencies and local government units (LGUs) fully  streamline and automate their system of providing services, according to Secretary Ernesto Perez, ARTA director-general.

Perez told a televised interview yesterday eBOSS is one of the programs that ARTA will sustain this year following its success in increasing business registration and revenues for compliant agencies and LGUs.

Perez said in coordination with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG)  and the Department of Information and Communication Technology, ARTA will provide the hardware and technical assistance to help these entities comply with automation.

Based on an audit conducted by the agency, eBOSS can facilitate the issuance of a permit to start a business in an hour or even less through streamlined processes.

Perez said DILG data would show while 630 of the 1,367 LGUs have automated their processes, only 19 are fully automated and the  bulk or 611 are just partially automated.

Perez said another program, ARTA’s Report Card Survey (RCS) , is ongoing and has been expanded to cover  860 government agencies, including  300 national government agencies,  200 LGUs, 150 state universities and 50 government  hospitals and water districts.

RCS rates  compliance of these entities on the provisions of the Ease of Doing Business Act.
