The Energy Regulatory Commission said it is waiting for the explanation of other distribution utilities (DUs) found to have violated its quarantine advisories.
ERC chair Agnes Devanadera said they have to yet to compute the penalties that may be slapped against the DUs.
“We reviewed reports and we saw a lot of violations. Some of them were violations on the collections of FIT-All (feed-in-tariff allowance) and the universal charges. We’ve written and asked them to explain,” Devanadera said.
The ERC expects to get today responses to letters sent last week to the erring DUs.
Devanadera called on consumers to pay their dues to DUs as the latter’s cash flow is necessary to continue their operations efficiently.
Total penalties to Manila Electric Co. for violating directives during the community quarantine, reached almost P300 million.
