The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will shift to 100 percent contactless business name (BN) registration by August 1.
The DTI said aside from the existing online BN registration facility, it will shift from BN teller to self-service for walk-in clients in its offices.
The Business Name Registration Division (BNRD) of the DTI said this would encourage all applicants to directly apply with the agency and allow BN processors to spend time in business counseling and other tasks.
BNRB said BN processors shall no longer input details of client’s application, and will just assist the applicant when requested.
All Negosyo Centers and DTI offices shall provide internet connection and computers for free use by BN applicants.
The BNRD said the initiatives were and approved by DTI Secretary Alfredo Pascual.
The DTI has also implemented other initiates including the Philippine Business Hub (PBH), a platform that aims to simplify business transactions through digital and online processes.
PBH streamlines the registration of businesses, permit renewals, and other activities, making it easier and faster to conduct business in the Philippines.
