The Department of Trade and Industry’s Consumer Protection Group (DTI-CPG) is holding the bi-monthly “Kapihan with CPG,” a dialogue series aimed at addressing industry concerns.
The maiden Kapihan held April 12 gathered manufacturing and retailers of basic necessities and prime commodities (BNPCs).
This initiative aligns with the DTI’s mandate to protect the consumers and ensure fair trade practices. It signifies the continuation of dialogue between the DTI and BNPCs’ manufacturers.
DTI-CPG assistant secretary Amanda Nograles s said the Kapihan series, though informal in nature, provides a opportunity for the agency and industry stakeholders to work together towards goal of ensuring the availability of goods at reasonable prices.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Unilever Philippines, Inc., Procter & Gamble Philippines, Inc., Monde Nissin Corporation, Universal Robina Corp., San Miguel Foods, Maunlad Canning, Inc., Nestle Philippines, Alaska Milk Corp., Century Pacific Food Inc., Canned Sardines Association of the Philippines, and, Nutri-Asia, Inc.
