DPWH opens bidding for P7B Mindanao projects

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) yesterday opened the bidding for the construction of five mega projects in Mindanao worth P7.6 billion.

These are located in Zamboanga Peninsula under Improving Growth Corridors for Mindanao Road Sector Project (IGCMRSP).

Emil Sadain, DPWH undersecretary for Unified Project Management Office operations and technical services, said in a statement the construction of Gutalac-Baliguian Alternative Road and R.T. Lim-Siocon Road in Zamboanga del Norte; Curuan-Sibuco Road in Zamboanga City and Zamboanga del Norte; and the Siay-Gapol Road and Guicam Bridge in Zamboanga Sibugay were advertised for public bidding of qualified contractors last Jan. 23, 2020.

IGCMRSP is funded by the Asian Development Bank.

The pre-bid conference is scheduled February 26 while the deadline for the submission of bids is on March 17, Sadain said.

The Gutalac-Baliguian alternative road project involves the construction of 7.18 kilometers (kms.) of concrete road with seven bridges; R.T. Lim-Siocon road project covers paving of 24.52 kms of road with seven bridges; Curuan-Sibuco road project is a 33.03-km road with two bridges; Siay-Gapol road project covers 18.93 kms. of road and three bridges; while Guicam bridges project spans 540.80  meters with 667.20-meter bridge approach linking Lutiman, Zamboanga Sibugay and Olutanga Port.
