The Fair Trade and Enforcement Bureau (FTEB) said it will look into complaints raised by a consumer group against Dali Everyday Grocery for alleged deceptive or unfair practices.
In a letter dated May 20, to Simoun Antonio Salinas, spokesperson of Malayang Konsyumer, Fhillip Sawali, FTEB director, said the agency will also endorse the matter ot Department of Interior and Local Government to advise local government units to inspect Dali stores’ compliance with sanitary requirements and other business regulations in their respective cities/ localities.
“We will look into the matter and take appropriate action to ensure Dali’s compliance with the Consumer Act, particularly the provision against deceptive or unfair practices,” Sawali said.
In a letter to FTEB dated May 16, Malayang Konsyumer said it has been receiving numerous complaints regarding the alleged negligent practices of Dali Everyday Grocery.
These include alleged erroneous pricing and weighing of chicken, erroneous inclusion of an item that was not willfully purchased, among others.
