THE Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has provided technology solutions to support the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) ReliefAgad system to improve the cash aid distribution in the country.
DICT said it provides secure cloud storage and cybersecurity assessment to process a maximum of 300 transactions per second. This is a faster and more efficient means of data collection and management compared to manual processing that is currently being done.
“In furtherance of their efforts, the DSWD strived for better, more efficient and more systematic cash aid distribution to improve the implementation of the SAP (Social Amelioration Program). And with that, we have the ReliefAgad,” Emmanuel Rey Caintic, DICT assistant secretary for Digital Philippines, said.
ReliefAgad will expedite the collection of Social Amelioration Card (SAC) data and distribution of cash aid to beneficiaries by the DSWD and local government units (LGUs).
Under ReliefAgad, the applicant needs to fill out the SAC form. The applicant should go to www.reliefagad.ph and will be directed to the home screen for registration.
In step one, the applicant could either take a picture of the barcode found on the lower right corner of the SAC for scanning or to type the SAC number onto the system.
In step two, the applicant should fill out the requested information, such as region, province and the unique number found on the SAC form. Upon authentication and validation of the SAC number, the applicant’s head of the family should fill out all requested information. This also goes for all members of the applicant’s family.
Finally, the applicant should choose his or her preferred mode of receiving cash aid, such as through cash, PayMaya, GCash, bank and others.
For those who do not have smartphones, Caintic said the DICT offers trainings to LGUs on how to manually encode data to the ReliefAgad System.
DICT also conducted Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing on ReliefAgad to ensure the system’s cybersecurity.
“The DICT greatly supports the ReliefAgad system. The ReliefAgad is a testament to the convergent efforts of the government. We welcome this development and we thank those from the private sector, whose passion and commitment to service have made this all possible,” Caintic said.
As part of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, the DICT said it is bolstering the various initiatives of the Department of Health, DSWD, LGUs and other government agencies such as ReliefAgad, RapidPass and StaySafe, through the use of ICT to better manage the coronavirus disease crisis.
