The National Home Mortgage Finance Corp. (NHMFC) has asked the support of developers in achieving the government’s Zero Informal Settlers 2028 Program.
This was the message of Renato Tobias, NHMFC president , to members of the Organization of Socialized and Economic Housing Developers of the Philippines (OSHDP) at the OSHDP Affordable Housing Summit 2022 held in Bohol last October 14.

In his keynote, Tobias enjoined the OSHDP to continue working with the government’s key shelter agencies in addressing the country’s housing crisis.
Tobias expressed his firm commitment to contribute to the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development’s “Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino: Zero ISF 2028 Program.” Under the program, the government aims to build one million homes per year over a period of six years.
Tobias said NHMFC’s support to DHSUD’s Zero Informal Settlers 2028 Program is through its Housing Loan Receivables Purchase Program or HLRPP.
“This is NHMFC’s allocation of a liquidity facility for housing originators to ensure continuous production of affordable housing units,” Tobias said.
“The NHMFC’s unique role as the government’s primary secondary institution serves the Filipinos by catering to the most pressing needs of our nation —- a safe, decent, sustainable and affordable housing for the Filipino families,” he saidd.
Tobias emphasized the need to build not just affordable and decent homes, but to build homes that can withstand natural disasters particularly because tt the Philippines is one of the most vulnerable to climate change.
