National Artist Kidlat Tahimik transforms MCIA

National Artist Kidlat Tahimik has officially transformed MCIA’s Terminal 2 with teasers for an upcoming art installation.

Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA)  is now home to the visionary works of National Artist and the Father of Philippine Indie Cinema, Kidlat Tahimik (Eric Oteyza de Guia). 

His unique art installations have been unveiled last August 22 at the Terminal 2 International Departures Area, infusing the space with a creative and culturally rich atmosphere that enhances the passenger experience. 

These installations, rooted in Cebu’s vibrant cultural heritage, depict the untold stories of Magellan’s historic expedition to Cebu. Through these pieces, passengers are invited to explore the rich tapestry of interactions between Magellan, his crew, and the indigenous Cebuano people, including the legendary figure of Lapu-Lapu.

MCIA proudly supports the efforts of artists like Kidlat Tahimik in promoting and preserving the country’s rich history through unique and inspiring art. 

Airspeed supports the 1st Langkit Festival

Airspeed announced its partnership with the City Government of Marawi for the 1st Langkit Festival. 

The Langkit Exhibit 2024,which ran until August 16, showcased the intricate art of langkit weaving, a traditional craft passed down through generations in Marawi. 

Airspeed provided free product shoot, and post products created by Marawi artists on www.kh-ph.com, and release ads for free.

At the recently held HR Asia Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony, InLife  also received the Most Caring Company Award. 

InLife also received the Silver Award for the Best HR Team and Bronze Award for Excellence in Workplace Wellbeing from another regional awards program, the HR Excellence Awards.

FTW, PLDT fete new Data Science grads, boosting Women in STEM

The graduates finished 14 weeks of Data Science training.

Thirty women scholars have successfully completed their data science training as part of Batch 9 of the FTW Scholarship Program, spearheaded by For The Women (FTW) Foundation in partnership with leading integrated telco network PLDT Inc., its wireless arm Smart Communications Inc. and PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF).

The graduates, who finished 14 weeks of data science training, join the ranks of over 500 FTW scholars who have benefited from this initiative. The program, started by FTW in 2018, is geared to enhance opportunities for women in the tech industry through data science training, and also aims to drive diversity in tech by providing free upskill training to women who otherwise wouldn’t have access to such specialized education.

The graduation ceremonies held recently at the Smart Tower in Makati City featured PLDT and Smart Chief People Officer Gina P. Ordoñez and broadcast journalist Karen Davila, who delivered inspirational messages for the graduates.

Procter & Gamble (P&G) Philippines’ homecare brand director Ian Phillip Villaruel was honored as one of the 2024 Top Filipino Youth Marketers at the 19th Mansmith Young Market Masters Awards (YMMA). 

Villaruel’s exceptional brand building and marketing management for P&G’s dishwashing liquid brand Joy has been recognized with this accolade.

SNAP’s Brigada Eskwela

SN Aboitiz Power- Benguet Brigada Eskwela in Bokod, Benguet.

SN Aboitiz Power Group (SNAP) wrapped up its three-week long annual support to the Department of Education’s (DepEd) Brigada Eskwela (BE) benefiting 24 schools and around 4,000 learners from Ifugao, Isabela, and Benguet for this year’s “Bayanihan Para sa MATATAG na Paaralan” initiative. 

On July 22, SNAP-Benguet held the first leg of Brigada Eskwela at Botic Elementary School, Tinongdan Elementary School, Binga Elementary School, Binga National High School, and Trazon Fianza Sr. High School, all located in Brgy. Tinongdan, Itogon, Benguet as well as at Ambuklao Elementary School and Ambuklao National High School in Brgy. Ambuklao, Bokod, Benguet. Each school received a complete set of painting materials. In addition, an Information Education and Communication (IEC) session on Ligtas Dengue was also conducted at Tinongdan Elementary School. 

SNAP-Benguet continued distributing paint and cleaning materials in Bokod, Benguet in August. The materials were provided to Adonot Elementary School, Banao Elementary School, Lebbeng Elementary School, Bangao Elementary School, Pilpiok Elementary School, Kawal Elementary School, Ekip Elementary School, Karao Elementary School, Bila Elementary School, Daclan Elementary School, Nawal Elementary School, and Bokod Central School.

SNAP-Magat’s Brigada Eskwela activities kicked off on July 29, 2024. Ramon Central School received 43 bags of cement for the improvement of the school’s reading nook. Gen. Aguinaldo Elementary School, Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo National High School, and Ambatali Elementary School in Ramon, Isabela received painting materials, electrical wiring for aircon installation, and water pressure pump and fittings for the school water system, respectively. 

SNAP-Magat also provided paint materials support to Sto. Domingo Elementary School in Alfonso Lista, Ifugao.
