Pawnbrokers host ‘Leading and Building as One’ confab   

The Chambers of Pawnbrokers of the Philippines Inc. (CPPI) recently held its mid-year conference, themed ‘Leading and Building as One,’ at the Crowne Plaza in Ortigas.

The event brought together industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders to discuss key issues, share insights, and explore innovative strategies shaping the future of the pawnshop industry in the Philippines.

The conference commenced with a warm welcome from CPPI president Jean Henri Lhuillier, setting the tone for a day of engaging discussions and collaborative learning. The highlight of the event was a keynote address delivered by Rep.  Linabelle Ruth Villarica, representing the 4th district of Bulacan and owner of Villarica Pawnshops, who provided valuable perspectives on industry dynamics and opportunities.

Cebuana Lhuillier CEO and president Jean Henri Lhuillier focused on the evolving pawning industry, “In today’s rapidly evolving landscape, marked by technological advancements, shifting consumer behaviors, and unprecedented challenges, the role of pawnbrokers has never been more vital. We are not merely providers of financial services; we are stewards of trust, guardians of financial stability, and pillars of support for countless individuals and families across the nation.”

The conference featured breakout sessions focusing on key aspects vital for pawnshop operations advancement, including strategies to keep the industry relevant.

 Brother Ph opens bigger extension office

Brother Philippines (Brother) officially opened its newly expanded Extension Office in Angeles Pampanga last May 8. 

The newly improved and bigger location aims to better cater to the needs of its growing client base in the area and fulfill its commitment of “At your side” philosophy, putting its customers first, every time, everywhere.

Situated within the 5Jem Building, along the bustling McArthur Highway in Sto. Domingo, the revamped 80-square-meter enclave now stands as a central hub for customers in Pampanga and neighboring provinces. 

The new office location is equipped with all its latest printer models and products as well as green project boxes in line with its ongoing campaign of Green Project Program which encourages customers to give back empty Brother ink bottles for recycling, reducing the demand for new production and minimizing environmental impact.

Shell Pilipinas recognized at Asia CEO Awards

Shell Pilipinas Corp.  (SPC) has recently been recognized for its commitment to diversity and inclusion, earning a spot in iCXeed’s Circle of Excellence at the Asia CEO Awards 2023.
