BPI named Best Bank

The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) was named the Best Bank in the Philippines by FinanceAsia Awards 2024, which recognizes the outstanding performances of leading financial institutions across Asia.

Founded in 1996, FinanceAsia is the leading capital markets publication in the region. 

Committed to sustainability, innovation, and excellence, BPI was also recognized by FinanceAsia as Best Sustainable Bank for the fifth consecutive year, the Bank with the Biggest ESG Impact, and the Best Corporate Bank. BPI Capital Corporation was named the Best Investment Bank and Best Debt Capital Market House.

Meralco powers back-to-school outreach program in Batangas

Meralco, through its social development arm, One Meralco Foundation (OMF), recently participated in and supported the outreach program spearheaded by Batangas’ Tricab Media. 

About 130 public school student beneficiaries from Kinder to Grade 6 of Teodoro M. Kalaw Memorial School and Padre Valerio Malabanan Memorial School at Barangay 3 Poblacion in Lipa City, Batangas, received brand new school bags and school supplies to kickstart the back-to-school-season. 

The project was organized by Tricab Media’s “Boses ng Calabarzon” radio program to bring joy and support to underserved communities. 

Grace Noche, OMF’s program manager, represented Meralco for the activity. Noche said Meralco’s participation is driven by their corporate values, malasakit and bayanihan. “Aside from electrification projects, we are committed to extending help to communities beyond Meralco’s franchise area. We hope that by helping the students of Teodoro M. Kalaw Memorial School and Padre Valerio Malabanan Memorial School, we contribute to a brighter future for themselves, their families and their communities,” Noche said.

BPI Foundation, BanKo support MSMEs

The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), through its social development arm, BPI Foundation (BPIF), in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Philippine Trade Training Center-Global MSME Academy (PTTC-GMEA), is set to conduct its third run of the training program for small and micro-enterprises (SMEs) in four new regions (Regions II, III, VII, and IX) this 2024.

BPI’s Small Enterprise Acceleration Lab — Business Expansion thru Training Application (SEAL-BETA) is a comprehensive training program designed for qualified microenterprises that seek to rebuild and expand their businesses. The program is also a joint effort with BPI Direct BanKo, Inc., A Savings Bank (BanKo), the microfinance arm of BPI. 

SEAL-BETA will offer a combination of training, mentorship, and financial education to help the micro enterprises recover from disruptions caused by the recent pandemic, continue their operations effectively, and explore opportunities for growth.

BanKo will provide accessible loan options tailored to the needs of SMEs to help them become more sustainable and successful. These loans are intended to support various business requirements such as working capital, equipment purchases, and expansion projects.

Seafood from Norway at WOFEX

The Norwegian Seafood Pavilion is back on its second year for the World Food Expo 2024

The Norwegian Seafood Pavilion is back to join one of the biggest food trade shows in the Philippines at the World food Expo 2024. 

The Norwegian Seafood Pavilion will showcase seafood selections caught from the cold waters of Norway, including the world-famous Norwegian salmon. The Pavilion will also feature more seafood products this year featuring three different exhibitors in the Pavilion from Hofseth International, Seafood Partners and Sikat Araw Trading Corp.

Different seafood products will be at the center spotlight for the 54 sqm exhibition, showcasing the best quality seafood from Norway for 4 days, starting July 31 to August 3, located at the Booth 2247, second floor of the SMX Convention Center in Mall of Asia.

The Norwegian Seafood Pavilion is organized by the Norwegian Embassy in Manila, supported by the Norwegian Seafood Council.
