InLife bags 2 Insurance Asia Awards

InLife won two awards at the 2024 Insurance Asia Awards: its 8th Domestic Life Insurer Award and the Digital Transformation Initiative of the Year Award – Philippines featuring its Agile Academy.

Aguas and chief transformation officer Efren Caringal, Jr. received the award on behalf of InLife. With them are Insurance Asia Magazine editor-in-chief Tim Charlton (extreme left) and Insular Foundation Inc. executive director Ana Maria Soriano (extreme right).

In her acceptance speech during the awards ceremony held on July 9 at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, InLife executive chairperson Nina Aguas thanked InLife’s policyholders for their trust and loyalty, and the employees and agency force for their dedication. “This achievement is a testament to our 114-year legacy of excellence and dedication. Your faith in us inspires and motivates us to continue delivering the highest standards of service… to A Lifetime for Good!”

Insurance Asia Awards said it recognized insurance companies that have “achieved outstanding milestones, set new benchmarks, and demonstrated remarkable innovations in the industry. It honored the innovative spirit of the insurance sector, showcasing companies that have redefined traditional boundaries through groundbreaking initiatives and made a profound impact on their customers.”

Support to TINPO’s projects

Renewable energy provider SNAP-Benguet, along with other government agencies, supported Tinongdan Indigenous Peoples Organization (TINPO) projects to achieve its community development goals.

On July 2, 2024, multiple TINPO projects funded by various organizations were inaugurated and blessed at Sito Cawayan, Tinongdan, Itogon, Benguet. These projects included the rice warehouse building funded by the Department of Agriculture Cordillera Administrative Region (DA-CAR) and its extension funded by SNAP-Benguet; a palay shed and multi-purpose drying pavement funded by DA-CAR; and the rehabilitation of the Baneng-Mamodati-Barat-Cawayan Tinongdan community irrigation system (CIS), which received funds from DA-CAR, National Irrigation Administration (NIA-CAR), the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Itogon, and SNAP-Benguet, among others.

These projects facilitate economic growth and self-sufficiency. TINPO hopes to create a resilient and thriving community, fully supported by SNAP-Benguet.

The event concluded with a tree-planting activity that promotes continued partnership and sustainable development practices.

United for zero hunger

Leaders from business and the non-government communities recently launched Kain Tayo Pilipinas (KTP), an initiative that unites private sector stakeholders to tackle food insecurity and malnutrition in the country.

During the launch, Kain Tayo Pilipinas and Philippine Business for Social Progress chairman Manny Pangilinan emphasized the need for collaboration in the private sector to address food insecurity in the Philippines.

KTP’s official launch takes place during National Nutrition Month this July. The coalition aims to develop tangible solutions addressing the nation’s issues of hunger, malnutrition, and food insecurity, ultimately ensuring a healthier future for all Filipinos. This initiative envisions a concerted effort from its members towards achieving Zero Hunger (Sustainable Development Goal 2).

KTP is committed to developing innovative solutions to advance sustainable development and usher in a brighter future for all Filipinos. It features three workstreams namely Nutrition, Food Security, and Enablers.

The Kain Tayo Pilipinas coalition is an initiative that unites private sector organizations by merging two private sector-led coalitions — Pilipinas Kontra Gutom and The Hunger Project — to collectively tackle malnutrition and food insecurity in the Philippines.

Aboitiz, ARTA turn over PinasBilis eBOSS Package to Lapu-Lapu City

Aboitiz Equity Ventures (AEV) and Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (AFI), in partnership with the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA), celebrated the turnover of the inaugural PinasBilis eBOSS Package to the local government unit (LGU) of Lapu-Lapu City during an event held at Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort recently.

The PinasBilis program supports the Philippine government’s mission to streamline government services and eliminate bureaucratic inefficiencies. Since its inception in 2022, the program has trained over 150 Ease of Doing Business champions from more than 20 national government agencies and LGUs.

Each eBoss package will be distributed to select barangays of Lapu-Lapu City, bringing the service closer to the people. These digital tools will enhance the barangays’ efficiency in responding to the needs of local businesses, making processes faster and more convenient.

TikTok Shop at National MSME Summit 2024

TikTok Shop participated in the National MSME (micro, small and medium enterprises) Summit 2024, organized by Go Negosyo in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry.

Themed “Innovate to Elevate: Empowering MSMEs for Sustainable Growth,” the summit underscored the pivotal role of digitalization in enhancing competitiveness and fostering sustainable growth among Filipino MSMEs.

TikTok Shop actively contributed to the summit through engaging panel sessions. Jonah Ople, category lead for fashion, TikTok Shop, participated as a panelist discussing emerging market trends and the pros and cons of traditional versus online market platforms.

“TikTok Shop is a unique platform where MSMEs can combine marketing and sales efforts seamlessly. Through our ACE Framework–assortment, content, and empowermt–we help businesses optimize their engagement strategies and drive sales. Our goal is to turn engagement into revenue while providing a compelling shopping experience for users,” Ople said.
