Globe legal team clinches spot in 500 GC Powerlist PH

Globe’s corporate legal team has been recognized in The Legal 500: GC Powerlist Philippines Teams 2024, marking a significant achievement for the company.

This prestigious listing, which for the first time focused on in-house legal teams rather than individual lawyers, acknowledges the strategic role of legal expertise in driving organizational success.

The ceremony took place at the V&A Law Center in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Marisalve Ciocson-Co, Globe’s chief compliance officer, SVP for Legal and Compliance, and assistant corporate secretary, accepted the certificate of recognition for Globe.

Ciocson-Co was joined by lawyers Ria Caganda-Vistan, Jing Pizarro-Yam, Mayee  Macaraig, Claris A. Timbang, Cynthia Peredo-Millan, Mika Sarmiento-Tacandong, Jill  Genio, Karen Visda, and Pat Hernandez-Umali.

PLDT Enterprise, the corporate business arm of PLDT, partnered with EFFLINK OPC to leverage the power of the Smart Messaging Suite to transform, enhance, and expand communication processes within the organization.

EFFLINK OPC, a dynamic company established in 2023, stands at the forefront of information communications technology to serve large and small enterprises in the Philippines, and has a strong commitment to innovation and excellence as they provide leading solutions that meet the evolving needs of their clients in the digital age.

The Smart Messaging Suite offers comprehensive solutions for user identification, marketing, and updates through multiple channels. By utilizing PLDT Enterprise’s Domestic A2P Messaging, EFFLINK OPC can ensure increased sales for their customers through promotional campaigns, OTPs for authentication, and one-way or two-way conversational messaging.

Security Bank, WWF-Ph promote sustainable agriculture 

Security Bank and WWF-Philippines officials in Barangay Hilamonan, Kabankalan City.

Security Bank Corp. last month  joined the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines for the Food Shed Farming Enterprise Project to address food and nutrition security in Barangay Hilamonan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

The Food Shed Farming Enterprise  Project is WWF-Philippines’ agriculture-based livelihood intervention. It promotes the sustainable production of crops and poultry products for local access to fresh and quality food.

The project includes many initiatives promoting agro-enterprise development, capacity development, and financial literacy.

These initiatives will be implemented within three to six months.

Community beneficiaries from Hilamonan Linag Asan Lupni Kawayanan Pacol Panique Overflow Irrigators Association, Inc. constructed two food sheds that will provide livelihood for their farmer members, catering to around 30 households. Members will then manage crop production and sell fresh, healthy, and hyperlocal food to local buyers.

St. Luke’s Global City sets new benchmarks

The CSHVI  boasts a multidisciplinary team of experts, including interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, and specialized nursing staff.

St. Luke’s Medical Center celebrates a significant milestone in its cardiac care program: completing 270 Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedures as of July 2024.

This remarkable achievement solidifies the hospital’s position as a pioneer in minimally invasive cardiac interventions in the Philippines.

TAVR is a groundbreaking treatment for patients with severe aortic stenosis, which is due to a severe narrowing of the aortic valve. In contrast to an open-heart surgery, TAVR is a far less invasive procedure.

St. Luke’s – Global City has performed the most TAVR procedures in the Philippines.

In addition to pioneering TAVR, St. Luke’s – Global City continues the introduction and expansion of minimally invasive catheter-based technology options of care for mitral valve repairtranscatheter tricuspid valve repair , congenital heart disease, and alcohol septal ablation for the management of hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy.

Asialink meet on cybersecurity, fraud prevention

Asialink Finance Corp. and other industry leaders joined forces to explore ways to address the problem, in the recent general membership Meeting of the Philippine Finance Association (PFA) held in Mandaluyong City.

Themed with “Cybersecurity, Fraud Prevention, and Detection: New Realities We Face Today,” the gathering underscored the urgent need for strong security measures within the financial sector.

“In this era of digital transformation, we recognize the critical importance of protecting our financial systems and the data entrusted to us,” said Asialink Finance  president and COO Eillen Mangubat, who currently serves as the president of PFA. “Adapting technological advancements to enhance cybersecurity is crucial for protecting sensitive information and maintaining trust,” Mangubat said, urging all financial leaders to prioritize the need for more secure systems.

The event also featured speakers who shared their expertise on data protection and best practices in combating cybersecurity threats. A series of lectures and panel discussions covered a range of topics including risk management, regulatory compliance, and the integration of artificial intelligence in cybersecurity.
