FG Cold Storage Corp. opened a P755- million refrigerated warehouse within the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA)- Navotas Fishport complex that will address the food industry’s growing logistics demand.
With a capacity of 7,200 pallet positions capacity, the facility is equipped with a high-density storage racking system to ensure efficient space utilization and easy access to international port and major highways
The facility was inaugurated last Friday.
FG Cold Storage said the facility also features 12 docking bays and ante rooms planned for large-scale operations with temperature control to maintain the cold chain’s integrity apart from having eight cold storage rooms designed at -25°C to uphold the highest standards of product preservation.
The facility’s layout is tailored to meet the needs of marine traders and manufacturers to offer flexibility in storing frozen meat and vegetables while ensuring efficient flow of transactions.
The company said farmers cooperatives may rent the refrigerated facility while waiting for cold storage facilities being constructed by the Department of Agriculture.
PFDA said the new cold storage facility would cater to more food manufacturers, processors, traders and restaurants, ensuring their valued inventory ranging from fruits, vegetables, seafood, meat, poultry and processed food products that are kept fresh and in excellent condition.
