Search for new president
The City of Malabon University (CMU) has opened the search for its next president who will continue the transformation of the University as the home of global Malabonians.
Interested and qualified applicants may send a formal application letter, together with the documentary requirements, addressed to the Board of Regents, City of Malabon University, Barangay Longos, City of Malabon.
Applicants must submit one set of original and six certified photocopies of the aforementioned documents on or before June 10 to Dr. Sheila Ibay-Villanueva, OIC-university president, Search Committee for University President.
First tech career hub in the metaverse
Recruitday will launch on June 10 the Philippines’ first ever career hub set on the metaverse coined as, ‘The Future of Career Building’. It will open at 6 p.m., giving attendees access to tech communities, career advice, discounted courses, and a chance to win an Oculus Quest.
The space that Recruitday will introduce will focus on six of the most in-demand tech tracks in terms of local employment, namely: Data & AI, IT Infrastructure, Software & Applications, IT Security, Tech Project Management, and CRM.
The career hub will also introduce a different approach compared to virtual job fairs that have emerged since the pandemic hit: instead of a one-time event, the space will remain open for those who are interested in visiting.
The event is open to all professionals in the tech industry, as well as for fresh graduates and career shifters looking to start a career in I.T. Attendees will get a chance to win an Oculus Quest, get a discount on tech courses, among other raffle prizes.
Free insurance

AXA Philippines, one of the country’s leading insurance providers, recently partnered with GrowSari, a tech-enabled B2B platform that supports micro, small and medium enterprises in the Philippines, including sari-sari stores, carinderias, pharmacies, and other roadside and market shops, have partnered to provide protection during emergency situations by offering free insurance coverage to member sari-sari store owners.
The coverage includes a death benefit as well as a daily hospital income (DHI) benefit in case of hospitalization.
The free insurance coverage is part of GrowSari’s Loyalty Program that is available to its Gold members who opt to be part of the program. It offers life insurance worth P35,000, as well as a DHI benefit amounting to P1,500 for three days of confinement.

Hyundai modern public utility vehicless gain traction among Bicol transport cooperatives with the Biyahenyo Caravan reaching up to 30 transport cooperatives.
Around 150 individual members of local transport cooperatives attended the event.
In partnership with Hyundai Trucks and Buses Alabang, 30 local transport cooperative groups, or up to 150 members, attended the roadshow event held at PROXY by The Oriental Albay Hotel to solidify their commitment through the signing of a memorandum of understanding.
The signing came at the heels of the recent successful turnover of 15 units of Class 3 HD50S Modern PUVs to the Bulusan Transport Service Cooperative last April in Sorsogon, while in 2020, a fleet of 23 Hyundai Modern PUVs was released to the Tabaco-Legazpi Transport Cooperative.

Gen-Z star Belle Mariano led the celebration via a Facebook Live with health and nutrition technical specialist from World Vision, Diana-Marie Nachor.
Whisper joined women around the world in advancing better and safer period management by having an informative and engaging dialogue and a pledge of donation that helps give menstruating girls in World Vision communities access to period products.
The program kickstarted the discussion with a refresher on Menstruation 101. Whisper highlighted its Breathable Cottony Soft pads, one of its bestselling products.

Sensitivity training

SM Cares recently held the eighth iteration of its annual “Sensitivity Training on Caring for Customers with Disabilities” which aims to educate its mall front liners on how to care for persons with disabilities (PWDs).
The event is part of SM’s efforts in ensuring PWD-friendly spaces in its malls and developments.
Held last May 20 and May 27, the two-part virtual training session successfully gathered more than 16,000 participants made up of security personnel, maintenance staff, and carpark employees, among others, as well as over 600 SM employees from different ranks.
The informative discussions were led by five of SM Cares’ long-time partners in its PWD advocacy.
