Clark airport terminal completed

Construction of the new passenger terminal building of Clark International Airport has been completed at the end of September and is slated to begin operations by January.

The airport expansion project was completed ahead of the October target.
Once operational, the new passenger terminal building is projected to increase the airport’s current operational capacity of 4.2 million passengers to 12.2 million annually.

The airport is also seen to accelerate economic progress in Central Luzon, and will provide an array of opportunities for job generation and more rapid tourism and socio-economic pursuits in the entire region, and the rest of its neighboring cities.

As of Oct. 14, 2020, Department of Transportation data showed that local carriers Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific and AirAsia Philippines have no scheduled domestic flights in Clark International Airport.

The airport is envisioned to be Asia’s next premier gateway and is seen to help decongest the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila.

Construction of the new Clark airport the terminal was undertaken by Megawide Construction Corp. and GMR Infrastructure Ltd.

LIPAD Corp. a consortium of Filinvest Development Corp, JG Summit Holdings Inc., Philippine Airport Ground Support Solutions Inc., and Changi Airports Philippines Pt. Ltd holds the 25 years contract to operate and maintain the airport.
