Cebu Pacific travel rules
Cebu Pacific announced there now 10 destinations in its network that accept vaccination cards as a travel requirement for entry. These are Butuan, Cauayan City of Isabela province, Cotabato, Dipolog, Dumaguete, Guimaras Island (via Iloilo), San Jose, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Virac.
Travelers are strongly urged to always check with the LGU of their destination for the latest updates.
A passenger is considered fully-vaccinated at least 14 days after having received the second dose in a two-dose series, or at least 14 days after having received a single-dose vaccine.
FWD Life covers COVID, vaccine complications
FWD Life Insurance announced the inclusion of COVID-19-related coverage reward through affordable and digitally accessible insurance plans that provide life, accident and critical illness protection. In partnership with Pacific Cross Insurance, the reward covers in-patient treatment of diagnosed COVID-19 illness or complications from COVID-19 vaccinations.
The reward comes with every new purchase of FWD Life Insurance’s KanMend, KanLive, KanGuard or a combination of all three in one protection plan.
Customers can claim their cash rewards amounting from P30,000 to P90,000 regardless of their hospital bills from confinement for COVID-19 or vaccination complications. The benefit is on top of their Health Maintenance Organization and other health plans.
BPI-Philam opens hundreds of jobs
BPI-Philam has opened over 700 posts to aid Filipinos struggling to find a job amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Most available positions are for bancassurance sales executives, who are tasked to guide clients in determining their insurance needs.
Accepted applicants will be stationed in BPI branches or assigned to work from home as appropriate, receive competitive benefits, and qualify for incentives and recognition programs.

The Aboitiz Group in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA) launched “Byaheng Digiskarte ni Ani at Kita” or BiDA Kita.

100K jabs distributed in Araneta City
Around 100,000 COVID-19 vaccines have been distributed since May 2021 at vaccination facilities in Araneta City, the Araneta Group announced.
The vaccination at the Smart Araneta Coliseum and New Frontier Theater took place on various dates and are made possible by the Araneta Group, through the arrangements of the J. Amado Araneta Foundation (JAAF) with the Quezon City government.
This number will continue to grow in the coming days as the Big Dome mega vaccination site will hold another round of vaccination from August 7 to 15.
The Araneta Group’s vaccination drive was able to reach all of its 3,000 office-based employees and frontline personnel.

UnionBank taps Finacle
Infosys Finacle, part of EdgeVerve Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Infosys and UnionBank of the Philippines (UBP), announced that the bank will migrate from an on-premise deployment to the state-of-the-art Finacle Digital Banking Solution Suite on Cloud.
Over 8 million customer accounts will be considered for migration to the new software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform.
The transition will enable UnionBank to scale both its Retail and Corporate Banking operations, rapidly develop and deploy new capabilities, and deliver frictionless, personalized, and secure digital banking services to its customers, in a cost-efficient manner.
Finacle is the industry-leading digital banking solution suite from EdgeVerve Systems, a wholly owned product subsidiary of Infosys.
URC starts vaccinating workers
Universal Robina Corp (URC) has begun vaccinating its workforce, and is aiming to have 70 percent of its more than 33,000 workers fully inoculated end of 2021.
Some 88 to 90 percent of the workforce at URC Sugar and Renewables’ mills and distillery at its sugar mill SONEDCO and La Carlota Sugar Mill and Distillery located in Kabankalan City and La Carlota City, Negros Occidental were inoculated through COVID Protect, the Gokongwei Group’s vaccination program, in time for the new milling season this August, 2021.
URC said its vaccine rollout will soon span its other workforce in Metro Manila and across the Philippines throughout its network of factories, mills, distilleries, and distribution and logistics hubs.
URC workers were among the Gokongwei Group employees belonging to priority categories, who were able to avail of the LGU-initiated vaccination roll-outs happening in Robinsons Malls across the country.
