Cavite to award Sangley Airport project by January

The local government of Cavite is optimistic of awarding the $10-billion Sangley International airport project by early January despite the slight delay in the bidding schedule.

Cavite Gov. Jonvic Remulla said they granted the request of bidders to extend the submission of bids from November 25 to Dec. 17 ,2019 to give them more time to prepare the bidding documents.

With this, the schedule of project award has been pushed back from December to January 12.

Jesse Grepo, Cavite government secretary for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for the Sangley International Airport said some of the candidate joint venture (JV) partners requested the PPP-selection committee to give them additional time to prepare their JV proposals.

Last November 11, seven firms including conglomerate, Metro Pacific Investment Corp., Lucio Tan firm  MacroAsia Corp., unit MacroAsia Properties Development Corp. and China C ommunications Constructions Co. Ltd as well as Philippine Airport Ground Solutions Inc. Mosveldtt Law offices, Langham Properties Inc. and PICTO bought bid documents.
