Thus, BOC-PCAG managed to collect P837.97 million in total additional revenue.

“Furthermore, the bureau is expecting an additional collection in the total amount of P13.647 billion from the enforcement of 67 demand letters, arising from post-clearance audits conducted in 2019, 2020 and 2021, which have become final and executory for the failure of the audited importers to contest the same,” the BOC said.

The agency added it will continue to plug revenue leakages and promote compliance of importers to customs laws through consistent post-clearance audit verifications and investigations.

The BOC earlier reported that in June, it recorded its highest monthly collection in history with P76.29 billion in revenues, surpassing its target of P56.29 billion by 35.5 percent.

Based on its preliminary report, 14 of the 17 collection districts were able to surpass their collection targets, namely, the ports of San Fernando, Manila, Batangas, Legazpi, Iloilo, Cebu, Surigao, Zamboanga, Davao, Subic, Clark, Aparri and Limay, and the Manila International Container Port.

The BOC also surpassed its midyear target collection of P327.81 billion by 21.05 percent, with an actual collection of P396.8 billion since January 2022.
