The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has exceeded its annual revenue collection target of P721.52 billion for 2022 as early as now, the agency said in a statement yesterday.
The BOC said it has generated P745.5 billion as of November 11, up by P23.98 billion or 3.27 percent versus the full-year goal.
Based on a preliminary report, all 17 collection districts of the bureau also reached their respective collection targets.
This year’s revenue collection performance historically marks the highest revenue collection of the agency to date.
For the months of November and December, the assigned monthly goals are P59.34 billion and P59.39 billion, respectively.
The bureau said Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz led the BOC in its collection performance so far this year through the stringent implementation of priority programs to curb smuggling and corruption, optimize revenue collection and digitalize and enhance customs operations anchored on the administration’s 8-Point Socioeconomic Agenda.
As ordered by the President, Ruiz has streamlined customs processes to ease bottlenecks and promote local and international investments and efficient trade facilitation, while preventing revenue leakages through heightened border security measures.
