BOC beats Sept target by 28% to P79.5B

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has once again surpassed its revenue goal beating its target in September by 28.4 percent, according to a statement released by the agency yesterday.

The BOC collected P79.5 billion revenues in September, based on its preliminary report. Thus, the agency was able to surpass its September target of P61.9 billion by P17.6 billion or by 28.4 percent.

This also shows an increase of P21.9 billion in revenues or a 38.1 percent collection improvement as compared to September of last year’s P57.6 billion.

According to the BOC, with the stringent implementation of border control measures, it was able to plug revenue leakages and strengthen the nation’s trade facilitation and revenue collection performance.

Year-to-date, the agency generated P638.7 billion in total revenues, 17.8 percent above its target for January to September.

This also shows an increase of P168.9 billion or 35.9 percent from the P469.8 billion raked in for the same period in 2021. – Angela Celis
