PLDT Global expands reach to Canada

PLDT Global Corp (PGC)  has partnered with Hasty Market to launch electronic load services in North America.

Under this agreement, customers will now be able to conveniently purchase Smart and TNT e-load products for themselves or to send to their family members in the Philippines in over 200 Hasty Market locations across Ontario, Canada.

PGC has also expanded its mobile app Free Bee, the go-to app fo rcalls, messaging, bills payment, and a platform where like-minded brands can reach a wider overseas Filipino market.

As of 2016, Ontario, Canada is home to over 53,000 Filipinos, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs website.

Globe banks on content, customer-first initiatives

Globe Telecom Inc. said content and  customer-first initiatives will continue to drive the company’s growth. This was shared by Globe president and chief executive officer Ernest Cu during the keynote conversation in the “Philippines in View” webinar conducted by the Asia Video Industry Association (AVIA).

We pioneered content bundling when we introduced plans that came with NBA League Pass, Netflix, and Spotify many years ago, and we continue to do so with our partnerships with Amazon Prime, HBO Go, and Viu, among others,” Cu said.

The company has progressed to become a content creator to meet the discerning demands of its customers. Through Globe Studios, the company now produces original films, television series, and online content. Globe also seen opportunity on local content.

`Tangerine’  showcased at `Kalakal Quezon’

“Tangerine” of the Four K Kakao Farm is being showcased at “Kalakal Quezon” at SM City Lucena Mall Atrium ongoing until May 31.

“Tangerine” is dark chocolate made by cacao farmers in Quezon and members of the Kakao Integrated Development for Livelihood and Transformation or KIDLAT, an organization of marginalized farmers.

Cargill adopts digital tools 

Cargill has embraced digital transformation to make its products available to more consumers.

The company  introduced a software that enables farms and feed mills to minimize their inputs and maximize outputs through its Digital Nutrition and Farm Management solution.

Its joint venture C-Joy, in the midst of COVID pandemic, has developed a new supply chain model by engaging in direct selling, leveraging on digital platforms to improve efficiency and flexibility of value chains to ensure consistent food supply and through the launch of the consumer brand Tip-Top Premium Chicken.

C-Joy is also diversifying into other channels by selling Tip-Top products through Metro Retail supermarkets, Zagana, an e-commerce partner platform and selected distributors and community retailers serving Calabarzon and Metro Manila.

New & improved CEB Flexi product

Cebu Pacific (CEB) enhances its CEB Flexi product —a flight add-on that allows passengers to voluntarily cancel their flights for free, up to two  hours before departure, and store the value of the booking in a Travel Fund.

The amount may be used to book new flights or purchase other add-ons such as seat selection or travel insurance.

The enhanced CEB Flexi, which may be purchased for as low as P499 during initial booking on the CEB website or mobile app, supports the airline’s goal to continue allowing guests to travel with peace of mind while supporting the industry in its efforts to rebuild passengers’ trust and confidence in air travel.

With this add-on, everyJuan will also be able to enjoy unlimited rebooking, following CEB’s permanent removal of change fees in March. A minimal fare difference may apply.

Passengers can also avail of the CEB Flexi product as a bundle with GO Flexi, and enjoy free cancellation, checked-in baggage with a combined weight of up to 20 kilos, and a standard seat.

Jollibee FoodAID distributes 6.4M meals

The Jollibee Group continues to provide food assistance to communities and frontliners in need through Jollibee Group Foundation’s FoodAID Program, which has distributed over 6.4 million meals since March 2020.

The Jollibee Group has mobilized more than P321 million worth of meals, hygiene kits, and other food items sent through the FoodAID Coin Bank, as well as donations from various partner organizations such as Temasek Foundation and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through DEG (German Investment Corporation).

Of the total resources mobilized by the Jollibee Group Foundation, P240 million-worth of food products was donated directly by the Jollibee Group through ready-to-eat meals from brands, specifically Jollibee, Chowking, Mang Inasal, Red Ribbon, Greenwich, Burger King, Panda Express, and PHO24.

The Art Relief Mobile Kitchens in Los Baños, Iligan, Davao, and Zamboanga have been beneficiaries of much needed protein and other ingredients from the Jollibee Group.

Volkswagen  T-Cross launched 

Volkswagen Philippines yesterday made officially  available to the public its global sport utility vehicle, the T-Cross.

 To celebrate its local market introduction, Volkswagen Philippines is holding the #TCrossTrendspotting activity, wherein the public are enjoined to send as many photos of their random T-Cross sightings on the road, at the dealers, or in any location, to the social media pages of Volkswagen Philippines with a brief caption explaining their impressions of the vehicle, along with the hashtag #TCrossTrendspotting and #MoreThan1Thing. Five winners will be chosen to receive an entertainment gadget.

The T-Cross  was made available in Volkswagen dealerships in Luzon starting yesterday, and will be available in  the Visayas and Mindanao beginning June 4.

Volkswagen Philippines extends the introductory price offer of P30,000 off the standard retail prices until June 30. Introductory prices are at P1.068 million for the 180 MPI S and P1.168 million  for the 180 MPI SE.
