Total investment registered by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) surged 210 percent in the first quarter of 2025 from a year earlier.
In a report released on Sunday, the BCDA said investments reached P7.72 billion in January to March from P2.49 billion in the same period in 2024.
The bulk of the investment was made by local investors, amounting to P5.81 billion, while foreign investors placed P1.91 billion.
One of the major projects will be developed by the Science Park of the Philippines Inc., a local real estate developer. It signed a 50-year contract lease to develop a 100-hectare industrial park in New Clark City.
The Science Park project will cost P2.7 billion, the BCDA said.
Another major project is the P4.8-billion affordable housing facility in New Clark City by a Filipino-South Korean consortium created by Sta. Clara International Corp., Saekyung Realty Corp. and Korea Overseas Infrastructure and Urban Development Corp.
The group allotted a portion of the project to the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Program, but the BCDA did not reveal further details.
Four local corporations have partnered with the BCDA to continue developing the hospitality and food sector in Camp John Hay, after the government recovered the 247-hectare leased area within the ecotourism zone, the BCDA said.
The companies include Stern Real Estate and Development Corp., which committed to invest P178 million in the lease and expansion of the iconic Le Monet Hotel and Filling Station food court.
Food and beverage firms Top Taste and Trading Inc., Amare La Cucina, and Prime Collective Corp. also signed agreements with the BCDA to establish new restaurants and cafes in the Camp John Hay.
Top Taste and Prime Collective pledged P20 million each and Amare has committed P30 million to their respective partnerships with the BCDA.
