The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) is preparing for the full implementation of Republic Act 11032, also known as the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Law, at the barangay level.
On February 23, ARTA officials led Secretary Ernesto Perez held a surprise inspection at Barangay Sto. Niño in Parañaque City on 23 February 2024.
Perez along with the Compliance Monitoring and Evaluation Office (CMEO) team assessed the barangay’s processes to ensure compliance with the mandates of the EODB law.
The inspection is a prelude to the expansion of the oversight of ARTA in implementing EODB.
ARTA said it will collaborate with the Department of the Interior and Local Government to advance this endeavor.
Perez emphasized the importance of barangays, as local government units, adhering to the law’s stipulations, thereby streamlining their processes and facilitating public service delivery.
The inspection also jumpstarts the series of Orientation and Town hall meetings to be conducted nationwide. – Irma Isip
