On April 11, 2024, Ambassador Endo Kazuya paid a courtesy call on the Department of Transportation secretary Jaime Bautista, exchanging views on Japan-Philippines economic relations.
During the meeting, Endo expressed Japan’s commitment to supporting the “Build Better More” policy through projects such as the Manila Subway and North-South Commuter Railway. He emphasized Japan’s intention to deepen cooperation with the Philippines across various sectors, including transportation, aviation, and maritime affairs.
Bautista conveyed his gratitude for Japanese government support in several transport-related initiatives, notably the “Project on Formulation of 30-year Railway Master Plan for the Greater Capital Region.”
