AirAsia Philippines is set to resume flights in 13 routes this month as part of initiatives to gradually restore its network operation amid the coronavirus pandemic.
AirAsia released the updated routes based on new developments following its coordination with partners in the government, including local government units.
Starting September 1, AirAsia resumes flights from Manila going to Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Tacloban, Cagayan de Oro, Puerto Princesa and Bacolod. Flights from Clark to Davao and Cebu to Davao also resume today.
Flights from Manila to Kalibo and Caticlan, Boracay will resume on September 8, and Manila to Tagbiliran on September 16.
For international flights, AirAsia resumes operation between Manila to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia today, September 1, and Manila to Kota Kinabalu on September 2.
The selected flights are open for booking through the website and mobile app. Passengers may use their credit accounts to redeem these flights.
The airline urges passengers to check the latest travel restrictions and advice of respective local and national governments before traveling, as policies may change frequently.
Meanwhile, as travel plans remain fluid during the current pandemic, AirAsia offers enhanced flexibility options for passengers to manage their flights.
Those with existing flight bookings departing from March 23 to August 31, 2020, which were cancelled by the airline can now choose between a credit account with a two-year validity period or unlimited flight changes until October 31, 2020.
Refunds are also available to those whose flights were cancelled due to the recent modified enhance community quarantine imposed by the government.
AirAsia said passengers can expect enhanced safety measures throughout the entire journey, including the pre-flight, in-flight and arrival processes. These include the mandatory wearing of face masks to be permitted to travel, among others.
It also advises passengers to check and comply with measures implemented by local airport authorities for a smooth travel experience.
AirAsia Philippines recently offered all-in one-way fares as low as P111 for domestic flights and from P1,311 for international flights, for travel period until Oct. 30, 2021.
AirAsia expects to ramp up its domestic capacity by 60 percent in the fourth quarter this year.
