AIR cargo operations of Philippine Airlines (PAL), Cebu Pacific and AirAsia Philippines continue to ensure unhampered movement of goods amid the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.
PAL said it operates a roundtrip cargo-only flight to and from Mactan, Cebu and Manila in response to requests from the cargo industry for the transport of vital supplies to Cebu specifically, pharmaceutical products, medicines, etc.
Carriers are not operating regular domestic passenger flights as mandated by the Inter Agency Task Force.
Cebu Pacific through unit Cebgo said its cargo operation uses ATR freighter aircraft from Manila to key points in Visayas and Mindanao.
The ATR freighter has a maximum capacity of 7 tons of cargo.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) is maintaining a skeleton workforce across all its offices and terminals nationwide so as not to disrupt the flow of goods in local and international trade.
All 25 port management offices with several smaller ports under PPA’s jurisdiction are operating normally, the agency said.
Last week, PPA issued guidelines for unhampered cargo movements amid the Luzon-wide quarantine which virtually allowed all cargo owners to withdraw or deposit cargoes normally.
