The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has revised downward its growth outlook for the Philippines to 5.6 percent from an earlier forecast of 6 percent for 2025 in its latest Asian Development Outlook (ADO) released today, Wednesday.
For 2026, the bank expects the Philippines to grow by 5.8 percent, instead of the earlier forecast of 6.1 percent released though the April ADO.
The Philippines is among the developing nations in Asia and the Pacific with growth outlooks reduced by the ADB for this year and the next. The bank cited the global headwinds expected to be brought about by the US tariffs rule as reason for the revision.
