Willibaldo Uy, president and chief executive officer of property developer 8990 Holdings Inc. , passed away on October 15. He was 61.
8990 in a statement yesterday said it will continue to remember and appreciate Uy’s achievements for, and contributions to, the company.
89990 said pending identification and determination of a replacement and until a new president is appointed to serve the unexpired portion of Uy’s term, the company’s chief operating officer, Alexander Ace Sotto, “shall carry out the duties of president of the company, in an acting capacity.”
Uy was appointed president of 8990 at the start of 2018. Prior to that, he was chief operating officer of 8990 between February 2016 to January 2018. He was an independent director of the company in August 2012 up to January 2016.
Uy also held concurrent positions with the Phinma Group of Companies.
Uy completed the Executive Program from the National University of Singapore and University of California, Los Angeles (1992). He has a Master in Business Administration from the Ateneo Graduate School of Business (1986) and a degree of Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management from De La Salle University (1979).
