Customers of both Maynilad Water Services Inc. and Manila Water will continue to experience rotational water interruptions in the coming days.
In a statement, Maynilad said 70 percent of its customers or around one million service accounts are on daily rotational water service interruption until November 24 to give it time to clean its basis of the high volume of sludge that entered its treatment plants and return the quality of its water supply to normal levels.
Select barangays in the cities of Manila, Pasay, Paranaque, Bacoor, Imus, Kawit, Quezon City, Makati, Muntinlupa Las Pinas, Caloocan, Noveleta, Valenzuela, Cavite City, Malabon, Navotas are affected.
The company is deploying water tankers to provide temporary water supply to affected customers.
Manila Water said due to problems in water turbidity, some of its customers in Rodriguez, Rizal will experience water service interruption until today (November 20).
Affected customers only represent less than three percent of its entire customer base.
Select areas in San Jose and San Isidro in Rodriguez are affected until the quality of raw water that its East La Mesa water treatment plant receives does not improve. Manila Water said it also continues to deploy its tankers to temporarily supply affected residents. – Jed Macapagal
