SAN Miguel Corp. leads the list of 40 Philippine companies that made the cut for this year’s Fortune Southeast Asia 500 list.
San Miguel, with $27.5 billion in revenues, placed 9th on the list. The top 10 companies have a combined topline of $660 billion — 36 percent of the list’s total revenues.
Fortune Magazine said the minimum revenue threshold to be included in the 2025 list was $349.4 million based on 2024 results.
Capping the top five Philippine firms to join the list are SM Investments ($11.43 billion at 25th place), Manila Electric Co. ($8.21 billion at 35th), Ayala Corp. ($6.46 billion at 47th), and JG Summit Holdings Inc. ($6.24 billion at 50th).
Fortune Magazine said the seven countries in the list’s inaugural Southeast Asia 500 list last year —Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines and Cambodia— continue to make their mark on the region’s economy.
Indonesia leads with 109 companies, while Thailand follows with 100. Malaysia has 92 companies on the list, Singapore has 81, Vietnam has 76, while Cambodia has two.
Singapore-headquartered commodities trader Trafigura remained at the top with a revenue of $243 billion, followed by Thailand’s PTT with $87.64 billion, and Indonesia’s Pertamina with $75.33 billion.
On the 4th and 5th slots are Singapore’s food and agribusiness powerhouses—Wilmar International, with a revenue of $67.38 billion, and Olam Group, with a revenue of $42.03 billion.
The top five companies generated nearly $516 billion in revenue, or 28 percent of all 500 companies combined.
The Zobel-led Ayala Group of Companies, in a statement, said it celebrates its rankings in the 2025 Fortune Southeast Asia 500, with three companies taking spots on the list — Ayala Corp. at 47th with revenues of $6.46 billion, Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) at 90th with a revenue of $4.06 billion and Globe Telecom Inc. at 114th with a revenue of 3.15 billion.
Gaming firms DigiPlus Interactive Corp., and Bloomberry Resorts Corp., meanwhile, ranked 223rd and 289th respectively with revenues of $1.31 billion and $921 million, respectively.
