The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Ayala Land Inc. have opened a new EDSA Busway terminal in Makati to service almost one million workers who commute to the city on a daily basis.
One Ayala, a transit-oriented development at the corner of Ayala Avenue and EDSA, will now serve as the Ayala stop of the EDSA Busway, a dedicated median lane for buses initiated by the DOTr and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.
The DOTr partnered with Ayala Land to facilitate the transfer of the Ayala stop from its former location at the curbside of EDSA starting November 19.
The EDSA Busway Ayala stop is one of the most utilized stops and the transfer will greatly benefit thousands of commuters, DOTr said.
DOTr Secretary Jaime Bautista also reiterated that the free ride service on the EDSA Busway will go 24 hours a day for the whole month of December. – Myla Iglesias
