Former television network executive Donald Lim has joined the Udenna Group to lead its communication, media and entertainment business which includes the soon to be launched DITO Telecommunity Corp.
Lim, former ABS-CBN head for digital media division, is joining the company effective February 1, 2020, as the chief operating officer of DITO CME Holding Corp., formerly ISM Communications Corp., and will concurrently act as the chief innovation officer of the Udenna group.
Apart from leading the communications, media and entertainment group of Udenna, Lim is responsible for Udenna’s investments in the space of media and entertainment.
He is also expected to identify synergies and drive business innovation across the Udenna group, which would include Phoenix Petroleum, Family Mart, Chelsea Logistics, Conti’s, Wendy’s, Enderun College and Udenna Land.
Lim will play the key role in shaping the group of companies under Udenna in its mission of uplifting the lives of Filipinos to a digital future. He joins the business from Dentsu Aegis Network, where he was the country chief executive officer for three years.
Lim is the founding president of the Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines, and was awarded various recognitions including the Ten Outstanding Young Men in community building in Digital Media, the DMN 40 under 40, and the Agora award.
He is also a professor in digital and strategic management for various universities, which include De La Salle University, San Beda University and the University of Asia and the Pacific.
Meanwhile, DITO, the country’s new telecom operator, is scheduled to start commercial operation this year, with commitment to deliver 27 megabits per second minimum internet speed in its first year of operation.
