Food and beverage companies including Monde Nissin, Magic Melt, Goldilocks, Mama Sita’s, Century Pacific Agricultural Ventures, and SL Agritech can now widen their export reach following their compliance with internationally recognized halal standards.
These companies recently participated in business matching mission in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The mission included a series of B2B meetings with regional distributors as well as participation at the 25th edition of Gulfood, the world’s largest food and beverage trade exhibition held yearly in Dubai.
Complying with internationally recognized halal standards enables these companies to export their halal-certified products not only to the UAE, which is the gateway to Middle Eastern countries like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, but also to other predominantly Muslim markets around the world.
These products were certified by Prime Certification and Inspection, a member of Prime Group and a UAE-based company with a branch office in the Philippines that specializes in certifying Philippine-based brands who want to export their products to predominantly Muslim countries in the Middle East, North Africa, Asia, and Europe.
To date, Prime has certified the products and/or services of some of the Philippines’ best known brands such as San Miguel Pure Foods, Unilever, Nestle, Jollibee, Hen Lin, and Tinhat Boutique Hotel and Halal Restaurant, among many others.
“The surge in the diversity and variety of food and beverages has led many consumers, Muslims and non-Muslims alike, to look for truly halal-certified products. Consequently, we have seen that more Philippine companies are seizing the opportunity brought by the booming halal industry by obtaining halal certification from officially recognized and accredited bodies. At Prime, we have registered a tremendous growth in the number of halal certificates issued in 2019 compared to the previous years after product, process and document validations and verifications were made,” said Mary Jane Alvero, chief executive officer at Prime Group.
